We offer the following services to customers in Southeast Michigan who purchase one of our gym sets.
Delivery & Installation
Available on every play set we sell from Backyard Adventures & Premier Play Systems for an additional charge. We install playsets from late March to late September (weather permitting). We provide you with a diagram of your play set as well as guidelines to help find an ideal spot in your yard. Our experienced installers will be happy to make suggestions, but things run much smoother if you've put some thought into the placement of your new set before they arrive. We install within a 100 mile radius of our Berkley Store. Additional zone charges do apply for customers outside of Zone 1 (see chart below). As a rule, we do not offer installation on units from Adventure Playsets, but this may change at different times during the season. We DO NOT service or install play sets from any manufacturers that we do not carry.
Delivery Only
Available on every play set that we sell (including Step2) for an additional charge for customers within a 100 mile radius of our Berkley Store. Additional Zone charges apply outside of Zone 1 (see chart below). We will deposit your play set in your backyard (if easily accessible), garage or driveway. Just tell us where you'd like it! We do not dropship.
Local Pick-Up
Pick-up is an option with any play set purchases. Our inventory is stored off-site and therefore can not be picked up at time of purchase (unless arranged in advance). Provided that your set is in stock, we require 48 hours notice for pick-up. We ask that you bring at least one able-bodied person capable of heavy lifting to assist our worker. In most cases a full-sized van, truck or trailer is needed, but for some sets a mini-van (without seats or additional family members!) may be suitable. Please ask for dimensions! We ask that you bring your own tie-down materials as we do not accept responsibility for arranging items inside of your vehicle.
Moving Service
We can arrange to come to your home, disassemble your set and move it to a new location within our service area. Moving out of state? We can disassemble your set and bundle it up for the movers. We only move sets that were purchased from the Doll Hospital. Our moving service runs from late March to late September.
Site Surveys
We offer site surveys for customers who have substantial yard concerns i.e. severely un-level ground, space issues, or major obstacles such as trees or wires. Our playground expert will take time to discuss what you are looking for in a playset and do his best to sketch out layout that will fit within your yard constraints. In some cases he may outline steps that you'll have to take on your own in order to make one of our systems a reality in your backyard. In the past, costly professional leveling was usually needed in cases with unlevel ground.....ask about our Specialty Series Adjustable Monkey Bars and Single Beams that can often tackle this problem with no other action needed! (Single Beams on Explorer Units are the same as specialty single beams and thus offer the same accommodations. There is a $75 non-refundable charge for a site survey. However, if you buy a Play set from the Doll Hospital, we will apply this amount towards your purchase.
Scheduled Maintenance
Some regular maintenance is required with any wooden Play System. Bolts should be tightened every month during the usage season, anchor stakes may need to be re-positioned, and some light sanding may also be necessary. Are you too busy, or simply mechanically challenged? We can arrange to have one of our experienced installers perform this maintenance for you and make sure that your play set remains safe for your children. Please call for pricing. Our sets do require re-staining every year or two. Unfortunately, we do not offer this service, but we can provide referrals upon request. We definitely recommend that you perform this routine maintenance to prolong the life of your family's play set. Please ask for a maintenance sheet for more details.
Disposal of Old Play Set
Looking to purchase a quality play set from the Doll Hospital, but need to get rid of an old rickety set in your yard first? Provided that the old set is not cemented into the ground, we can remove it for you. We will disassemble it and haul it away for an additional charge.
